Publicity Masterclass is a game-changing, day-long course that promises to revolutionise how students and school leavers prepare for their future careers. This masterclass is the ultimate launchpad for those who dream of building a career in the world of PR, hospitality, luxury, and travel. The Masterclass will be divided into two parts, starting with educational sessions that provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the sectors and the range of career opportunities available. The sessions will cover everything from the growth potential of the industry to the skills and qualifications required for a successful career.

In the second part of the Masterclass, participants will have the opportunity to interact with companies that are actively recruiting for these sectors in a speed-dating-style format that will create a unique networking opportunity. Companies will showcase their recruitment process and provide attendees with information on the exciting opportunities available. At the end of the day, attendees will be awarded a Publicity Masterclass certificate, as well as receiving a list of all Travel PR agencies and Travel Companies with in-house PR.

Publicity Masterclass is about informing and educating those keen to embark upon or consider a career in publicity (or PR). Anyone from a graduate to a school leaver can take part in the day-long intensive course where attendees will learn about the principles of a career in publicity, understand the specifics of a career in travel PR, appreciate what day-to-day life is like in this sector and which companies are the best ones to consider joining. For the final two hours of the day the top Travel PR companies will join us for a networking session and specifically to meet you - the freshly trained travel PRs.

THE MASTERCLASS HOSTS

The masterclass hosts and curators of the day are Emma Cripwell and James Treacy.

Emma Cripwell

Emma is the Publicity Director for THE PIG Hotels. After a career working in publicity for Berry Bros. & Rudd and Ann Scott Associates, Emma founded her own consultancy, Angel Publicity. Angel (as it became affectionately known) was comprised of a travel division and a children’s books division. In August 2016, she sold Angel Publicity to Paul Charles, Richard Branson’s former communications director. Paul formed The PC Agency where Emma was the Managing Director of a 23-strong company. Emma left The PC Agency in 2018 to focus solely on THE PIGs.

James Treacy

James Treacy is a PR professional with an impressive over decade-long career. Having worked agency-side on some of the world's most recognizable brands, including L'Oréal and Air New Zealand, James always leaves a lasting impact on each project he undertakes. James has worked with major players in the travel industry, such as Tourism Australia and Abercrombie & Kent. James' achievements include his involvement in the famed Air New Zealand safety videos, which went viral and set a new benchmark for airline safety and brand messaging.

His contributions to TV shows have also been noteworthy, working with the likes of ITV, the BBC and more. James is undoubtedly one of the most accomplished PR professionals in the business.
